How do parental controls work?
The FocusPhone is designed to give parents clear and simple control from the start.
It includes:
- PIN protection, which prevents unauthorized access to sensitive settings or functions
- Pre-selection of applications, so the device only includes what you consider appropriate
- Internet content filtering, using a DNS system that automatically blocks inappropriate websites
- Geolocation, through Google tools, to check the device's location at any time
Overall, the phone limits use to the essentials and eliminates many of the usual distractions and risks of a conventional smartphone.
Can I block access to some apps?
Yes! The phone comes with a pre-installed PIN control app where you can choose which apps and settings to lock with a password of your choice. This way, your child won't be able to install other apps, such as social networks or games, or change important phone settings. These apps will only be accessible with the PIN you've chosen. You can also change it whenever you want.
Why is the FocusPhone better for my child than a regular cell phone?
We've designed a specific interface to house only the most important apps. The idea is for your child to learn to use their phone for specific tasks, like calling or texting. They shouldn't just use their phone for the sake of it. There's no TikTok or Instagram , and no video games to waste hours on. This way, we ensure they spend as much time as possible living and learning in real life.
